I did not realize that podficcers would need to modify fic to fit in the audio format, but it makes sense, on contemplation. As an author, I'm not comfortable with the idea of someone thinking that a modified fic is entirely my words, but I am perfectly happy with fic that's been modified with a statement that it's been modified to better fit in the audio format, or some reasonable equivalent. Podficcers might take "well, of course it's been changed if it didn't work" for granted, but I had no idea that this was a thing. I think it's brilliant, and I like it labeled.
