NP, like I said, she posted late and she left the link to one of my posts, so I figured you wouldn't see it. :)

How to get started?

I've been listening to podfics, mostly Sherlock, for a few months now and I'm starting to think I would like to try doing some myself, though listening to my own voice makes me think my first step needs to be taking voice lessons :-).

So my question is how do I find support, answers to my questions, discussions about equipment, help on using the software, etc? Is there an email list(s) or forum(s) where podficcers hang out?

And while we are at it, is there anyone who lives in the Athens - Atlanta, Georgia area?

I've been away from fandoms in general for a few years and now that I'm back I'm finding it really hard to figure out how fans are connecting these days. It used to be mostly on email lists but that doesn't seem to be the case now. I've looked at forums on Dreamwidth and Livejournal and they don't seem to be the kind of freewheeling discussions I was used to. As for Tumblr, I can't figure out how discussions even happen there!

I'm sorry if this isn't the place to get into this.
