Blanket permission is a way for fan artists to let other fans know their comfort with others playing with their works. It's particularly helpful to podficcers when authors give blanket permission for anyone to podfic their works without having to ask first. To find out more on blanket permission with regards to podfic check out [community profile] pod_aware on LJ or DW.

To make it easier for you, you can just copy and past from here:

To help get us in the mindset, here's a podcast done by [livejournal.com profile] jenepod, [personal profile] paraka and [livejournal.com profile] revolutionaryjo, where we talk about the benefits of blanket permission:

As a thirty plus year veteran of fandom, I can't help but point out that the correct pronunciation of the word 'zine' is zeen, as in magazine. It's actually a short form of the word fanzine.

It is a testament to the difference in our ages (I'm *cough* OLD *cough*!) that you've likely never heard the word used in conversation. ;-)

I've actually heard the pronunciations used interchangeably. I think it's one of those internet words that had an original pronunciation but a secondary one was adapter as people pronounced it as it was spelled rather than how it was originally pronounced. :)

I did actually know that zine was short for fanzine, which came from magazine, but I've always pronounced it "zine" *shrugs* Sorry if it bugged you. :)

Not at all! Just never heard it pronounced that way before.
