Sign Up Info
For each day of
pod_aware there's going to be a theme, a subject we will expand on to help spread awareness. Here are the planned topics:
November 7: Podfic 101/Why We Podfic
November 8: Blanket Permission
November 9: Author/Podficcer Relationships
November 10: Accents
November 11: Feedback
November 12: Repodding
November 13: Encouraging Podfic
All you have to do in order to participate is to post something (and remember, the something doesn't have to be podfic related, or related to that day's theme) on one of these days with a little bit of information about podfic (provided) and link to it in on this comm. That's the bare minimum. You don't have to post something every day (but you can and it's totally encouraged!), just post what you're able to/comfortable with on as many days as you want.
You don't have to sign up in advance however here are the reasons why you might want to (and why we want you to):
If you do choose to sign up now, sign ups are less of a firm commitment than a heads up of your plans. If you end up doing more or less, that's ok too.

- Commitment motivates some people to complete things.
- Sign ups help your mods gauge people's interest levels and help us give a more even flow fanworks.
- Writing about what you're thinking of doing lets other people send you encouragement!

Day(s) you're interested in posting on: Possibly all of them, depending on how busy that week gets
What kind of fanwork(s)/fandoms are you thinking of posting? Probably podfics in several fandoms including Merlin + reader's notes or commentary.

Day(s) you're interested in posting on: All of them.
What kind of fanwork(s)/fandoms are you thinking of posting? Well I'm hoping to post at least 3 podfics, a tutorial, meta, rec list(s?) and maybe a pic spam. Most likely it'll be AI8/Kradam oriented.

Day(s) you're interested in posting on: All of the above!
What kind of fanwork(s)/fandoms are you thinking of posting? Probably art of some kind and/or recs. If there's time to kick out a short podfic or two, then I will but given how slowly I go about such things it seems unlikely in the space of a week.

You wouldn't have to create the things the same week they're being posted. In fact, I already have 3 podfics (almost) ready and waiting for November. :)

What kind of fanwork(s)/fandoms are you thinking of posting? I have three podfics that have been nagging me mightily to just *DO* them already, so this seems like a good kick in the pants to try to get them done. :) (Fandoms: Weiss Kreuz, Tiger & Bunny, Suikoden) Possibly a meta- or rec- post somewhere in there.
Can I clarify: Am I understanding right that the posts I'm signing up for are posted elsewhere (my home journal, pertinent comms, etc.) and linked back here "for more info"? Or is it that the work is actually posted here?

The subject for Nov 8 is Blanket Permission, and I'm a little uncertain about how to approach that as a topic. (I know we don't have to Create On Topic X, but that's how I tend to approach things, at least as a springboard.) I've granted podficcing blanket permission, and I sorted out a few different types of permissions for my comm (w/

As for ways to approach the topic, it would be cool to hear what motivated you to give blanket permission. Also, what kind of comm permission did you grant? I'm not aware of it and can't think how it would work so that sounds really interesting to me. Does that help? Do you want more? I'd be happy to get into a discussion on it with you if you'd find that helpful (I always have to talk through my ideas before I really get them :).

But I was also looking at the other topics and contemplating ideas, and I just hit a blank at Blanket Permission. I think in my head the decision to grant (or not grant) blanket permission is something that's a decision and is then over (although it could be re-visited if things change), and I don't really know what to say about it. (I honestly think my entire thought process was: I like podficcage. I shall grant blanket permission. Yes, that means if I end up pulling my fics the podfics may still be freely available, but I'm okay with that.)
Re: comm permissions: I admin a Supernatural challenge comm,
* We do understand that working with different fanwork mediums necessitates flexibility in interpreting prompts, and we don't demand any kind of one to one mapping of prompt to fanwork. Basically, prompts are inspirations, and we don't make any kind of judgments on how something was inspiring or interpreted! Podfic posting guidelines can be found here, under the definition of 'comment-sized.'

Day(s) you're interested in posting on: Some? I'm trying to post something everyday in November, so hopefully I will have something to say or share most of the days.
What kind of fanwork(s)/fandoms are you thinking of posting? I have a podfic or two in the works, and I can definitely put together some rec-lists for my various fandoms, I'm mostly a listener... but I have permission to record at least one thing, and I really should finish it up. (Various fandoms: Arashi, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Merlin, Sherlock, House, Harry Potter, Supernatural... oh goodness.)
