pod_aware is now officially over. I can't believe the level of participation we got and the generally just how amazing everyone was!

I've seen quite a few comments saying "I planned to do X but ran out of time" (quite a few times from me directly, like for the 2 daily podcasts that are still missing :S). If people have projects that they still want to submit you can post it this week (related to any day you'd like) and we'll add them to the round up posts.

Next week I'll post a round up of all the days.

So, it's the last day of

pod_aware and I'm not sure I'm ready for it to be over! Well, I'm ready for the work to be over but the love and enthusiasm has been so amazing! So I thought this would be a good time to talk publicly about a project I've been working on starting for a while now.

To that end, I've posted on my journals a poll asking about interest in a Podfic con!

My post is about a North American con, but there are links to a similar poll put out by

general_jinjur for a European con. (When

general_jinjur and I spoke about it, she pointed out that now we need an Australian/New Zealand con, right? Right? :D).

I wish I could have come up with something more profound for

pod_aware but I guess it's a good thing I don't often have to meet fandom deadlines! I don't think I can add anything to today's topic of feedback that isn't already said better in this post here. So instead, from a listener, some reasons why podfic is awesome and deserves all the love it can get.

It only took three recording/slash editing session but I have 20 minutes of audiometa, um, podfic meta in podfic form? Hmmmm…there's still no good phrase for it.

Earlier this week

anatsuno recorded

general_jinjur's awesome podfic meta essay from last year.

It inspired me to read

sophinisba's award winning kinky podfic meta essay, "Kink_Bingo and Podfic, Perfect Together".

Both

sophinisba and

general_jinjur's essays are worth reading as well as listening to and

sophinisba's essay has many, many links.

Hey Everyone!

Are we having an amazing week or what! I'm so happy and excited to see everything that's being made! Keep up the great work!

I've had a couple people come to me saying "I have stuff to say/things to make for theme X but have missed/won't have time on that day to post, can I still post later?" And the answer is an emphatic "YES!"

The themes only have to apply to the little blurb that is attached to that day, if you want to talk about feedback on the accents day or want to post something completely unrelated to podfic, that's still totally awesome!

If you have something meta-ish that ties into a theme but have (or will) miss that theme day and still want to use the blurb of that theme day and have it added to that day's round up, that's totally ok too! I'm flexible! (as a mod at least, no one wants to watch me attempt yoga or something :S)
